Case study: starter collection shelves
“Lots of books were accumulating in the bedroom… we started small in the corner of the room.”
Start small and add to it
In his son’s bedroom there was built in storage, but no shelves to put those few books that are read everyday.
The window sill was being used and filling up quickly – a modern version of a bookcase was needed… but one high enough up to be out of the reach of small hands.
“I wanted a simple solution for the immediate problem: lots of books were accumulating in the bedroom. We decided with help from Vitsœ that we’d start small in the corner of the room so that we could expand the system in the future when funds allowed. We plan to display more favourite books and toys as the shelves expand.”
Installing was simple
Ordering two shelves online and installing himself using our spacer level, the shelving was on the wall in under an hour…
...and no need to move the parrot hanging from ceiling.
Instant book storage
Once installed, immediately the ‘little miss’ books were organised on to the shelves…
...whilst the parrot continues to lend a helping hand.
The perfect solution
Bedtime reading is made easier with some closely accessible shelves.
When more shelving is needed in the future, this can be added to the left easily.
One month later…
After living with the shelving for a short time, it was clear that more was needed.
Alex called us and asked for some additions and we delivered them a couple of days later for him to add another bay.
