Can I use it in the kitchen?
  • Yes. The durability of the metal shelves means that heat, humidity and grease will present no problems if your saucepans are stored on them near your cooker
  • Naturally, your cookery books need look no further for a better home
  • Cabinets will store your cutlery and crockery. Champagne will stand up in a one drawer cabinet whilst claret will lie down in a three drawer cabinet
  • A double-sided compressed system creates an island unit between cooking and dining
  • Oh, and this is not a kitchen that you leave behind when you move. Sensible

Will it work as a wardrobe?
  • Yes. Anything from a single shelf with a hanging rail right through to a complete walk-in wardrobe for the serious sartoriaholic
  • The beauty of using the shelving system is that all positions are adjustable - simply move hanging rails up and down as seasons and fashions change
  • Add more bits when you need them or simply move a cabinet from the sitting room to the wardrobe when more storage is needed
  • Ask us for hanging rails that replace our cross rails and lock between a pair of X-Posts
  • Even put a mirror inbetween the X-Posts - the possibilities are endless

What type of drawers do you have?
  • One drawer cabinet for items up to 32cm high; filing rails are supplied for US, A4 or foolscap formats
  • Two drawer cabinet for items up to 15cm high - CDs, DVDs, clothes, etc
  • Three drawer cabinet for items up to 9.5cm high - stationery, underwear, etc
  • Shelf with drawer for items up to 7cm high - stationery and smaller items

Can I store my LPs on it?
  • Yes. They can be stored on the 36cm deep shelf. They will not fit onto the 30cm deep shelf.
  • Always use the 65.5cm bay width which is best for heavy loads.
  • When installed on plasterboard walls or other soft surface walls, never allow the bottom shelf to be level with the bottom of the E-Track as this may cause the surface to fail locally.
  • If the shelf is to be hung from the bottom hole of the E-Track, loading must be restricted to light/medium weight only. Alternatively, use semi-wall mounted.

Can I store CDs/DVDs/videos on/in it?
  • Yes. They can be stored on the 16cm deep shelf
  • Or they can be stored in two drawer cabinets. Order drawer dividers, too.

Can I hide my wiring?
  • Yes
  • Wall mounted - put the bottom shelf (or cabinet) just above the electrical sockets. By doing this you will hide the sockets from view without preventing their use. Then bundle the excess wires (and multi-gang extensions) onto the bottom shelf
  • Semi-wall mounted - the fact that the system stands in front of the sockets and plugs allows them to be obscured by shelves/cabinets (which can be hung lower than on a wall mounted system) whilst still allowing their use
  • 'Clean Removal' tape - ask us for a roll of 3M's best so that you can tape wires to the backs of shelves (behind the lip), cross rails, cabinets and X-Posts
  • Cable conduit - ask us for this conduit that snaps into cross rails or X-Posts
  • Remember that shelves (empty!) can be lifted up by the front lip to make space for a plug to be passed behind. Hence you do not need to detach the shelf to run your wires around. Cabinets do need to be detached, or run your wires before hanging your cabinets

What do I do about my TV?
  • Flat-screen TVs weighing up to 15kg can be placed toward the back of a cabinet: if the stand of the TV is in the centre, use a 65.5cm wide cabinet; if the pair of feet are towards the edge of the TV, you might be able to use a 90cm cabinet
  • Heavier plasma TVs must go on metal shelves, normally of 22cm or 30cm depth. Try to match the shelf width (65.5cm or 90cm) as closely as possible to the width of your TV, especially if the TV is heavy
  • The shelf on which you stand your TV can be used either way up depending what looks best
  • TVs can be wall-mounted within the design of your shelving system. Let us know the shape and size and we will add it to your drawing
  • Using a semi-wall mounted system gives you extra space for lots of wiring. Ask us about our cable conduit for tidying up the wires

Can I put my PC/printer/HiFi/TV on it?
  • Certainly. Size and strength are the issues. Ensure that you choose the shelf that best fits (both depth and width) your electronic box. The better the fit, the better the shelf will perform. Do not put a heavy box with a small footprint on the centre of a large shelf
  • Bear in mind the depth of the tube of a monitor or TV. The footprint normally fits on a shelf but the tube will extend over the back of the shelf. If this is the case, a semi-wall mounted structure will give you up to 16cm extra depth (with the longest wall bracket)
  • Combining the integrated table, with an adjacent desk shelf gives you lots of space
  • Printers etc can perch on shelves above or below your working surface

Can you recommend a magazine file/box for my magazines and loose papers?
  • The best that we have found is from Muji. It is their A4 PP frosted magazine angle file, code 5318476. The files fit on a 30cm deep shelf.
