Vitsœ talks: Meike Ziervogel
20 June 2011

At Vitsœ we often consider what might be stored upon our shelves. The answer is almost anything but beautiful books are an obvious starting point, so on Monday 4 July we are joined by publisher Meike Ziervogel who will help us read between the lines of the literary world.
Meike established a small independent publishing house in London in 2008. Named after a Greek nymph and specialising in contemporary European literature of less than 200 pages translated into the English language, Peirene Press introduced something new to the publishing industry.
In 2011, as an awarding-winning publisher, Meike joins us to discuss the secrets of Peirene Press’ success and the allure of slim volumes that can be devoured in the same time it takes to watch a DVD.
