Our film: a lifelong relationship in just two minutes needed a soundtrack…so we raided the LP collection of Airside’s Fred Deakin who helped us to choose Dee Felice Trio’s classic jazz track “Nightingale”.
Long known on the jazz dance scene as one of the premier jazz dance classics of all time, ‘Nightingale’ by the Dee Felice Trio was only released on the B-side of an obscure 7” on the small Terry label in the 60s. The desirability and rarity of the original record has recently seen it change hands for up to £400.
The trio have not been around for some time now, but Jazzman Records have acquired an exclusive license to reissue the track legally for the first time. Perfect for jazz dancing, it is an up tempo drum, bass and piano instrumental with a catchy melody and irresistible foot-tapping Latin swing to it.
