The Hell of the Ashdown
31 January 2010

Sunday 31 January 2010 was the third annual gathering of enthusiastic Vitsœ staff, customers and friends of Vitsœ at what is the cycling season’s first major Sportive of the year – The Hell of the Ashdown run by the Catford Cycling Club.
It was also the first outing for the new Vitsœ winter cycling jersey which was to prove itself worthy of the toughest of conditions, keeping all the riders protected in the coldest valleys and ensuring they could breath easy on the toughest of climbs.
Twelve riders sporting the winter jersey showed up at the start and set off for what turned into a challenge of balance as much as stamina.
Sixty-seven miles later after 5 punishing climbs, a handful of energy sapping smaller bumps, a number of falls and some resultant mechanical failings eleven riders made it across the finish line unscathed for a hot drink and tales of adventures on ice…
Well-done lads, Vitsœ highly applauds your initiative and energy in organizing yourselves for such dedicated team work in your spare time.
The long-sleeved jersey will be available soon.
