The architectural world unites in grief

It was with great sadness that everyone at Vitsœ learned of the death yesterday in Prague of Future Systems’ founding architect, Jan Kaplicky.

He was an enthusiastic supporter of Vitsœ from our earliest days in the UK and was immensely warm and generous in allowing himself and his then young son, Josef, to be photographed by Ken Kirkwood for our brochures and website in the late 1990s.

He included the 606 Universal Shelving System in his cherished Hauer-King House in Canonbury, London and in his own home. His belligerent iconoclasm will be missed.
