Blackpool comes to London

Original Blackpool illuminations from the late-70s have shattered any sense of good taste in Wigmore Street.
Renowned for his work as Festival Director at Blackpool Illuminations and projects for Richard James, Savile Row, in Japan, Philip Oakley describes himself as a full time dreamer and sometimes designer.
“I am attracted to and collect unusual things and own an ambulance, over 1000 sets of fairy lights, 200 mirror balls, 3 horses, 3 operating tables, 3 snowmen, a fibre optic christmas tree forest and 52 Blackpool Illuminations.”
He collected the 2006 UK Lighting Design Award (exterior category) for lighting the World’s biggest mirror ball on Blackpool Promenade.
Philip Oakley has created Vitsœ’s Christmas window this year at 72 Wigmore Street.
