Mark Adams

Managing director

Mark Adams is a passionate subscriber to the ethos that more of us should live better with less that lasts longer. He has long believed in the value of intelligent and durable design, a philosophy that is central to him today as managing director of Vitsœ.

In 1995 Adams transferred the company and its production from Germany to Britain. In response to the company’s increasing success, Adams opened Vitsœ’s flagship shop in London’s West End in 2004. Under his direction the business has not only grown strongly but has developed the philosophy of Rams. Indeed, to this day, Adams works closely with Rams and is a key member of the team that organises Rams’s exhibitions and appearances worldwide.

Dieter Rams

Designer

Dieter Rams helped change the face of the post-war domestic landscape throughout the second half of the twentieth century.

He came to the attention of Niels Vitsœ and Otto Zapf in 1958 as a young employee of Braun in Germany when he was involved in the design of a revolutionary new record player, the Braun SK4 (nicknamed ‘Snow White’s Coffin’).
